JOB DESCRIPTION: Quality Manager
This position is located in Wallingford, CT.
Responsible for controlling quality standards in areas of workmanship, packaging and approved documentation for Production and suppliers; responsible for supplier qualification system – evaluating potential suppliers; aiding in the selection of new suppliers; monitoring supplier performance; Developing ship to stock program; overseeing conformance to quality requirements for the Lab and Machine Shop, including in-process and final audits, measurements, review and report on audit results and customer complaints/rejections; develop methods for measuring customer satisfaction – customer complaints/rejections vs. shipments received; monitor the reliability of APS products; customer surveys; participate in design and project reviews; ensure new parts being released have a quality plan and proper inspection gauges to inspect the new parts; ensure that APS and industry Engineering standards are met for goods and reports on both development and customer projects; Manage Quality and Inspection departments; make recommendations for equipment and personnel, assure that in-process and final inspections are performed effectively and efficiently.
BS Electrical / Mechanical Engineering plus eight or more years electro-mechanical inspection experience required, including five or more years in a supervisory role, or equivalent. Must be thoroughly familiar with electronics assembly including SMT, high temperature electronics. Must be thoroughly familiar with manufacturing methods including turning, milling, boring, honing, drilling, welding.
