APS's new electromagnetic telemetry (EMT™) pulser for SureShot™ transmits MWD data to the surface under conditions where conventional mud pulse telemetry cannot, including:
- Under-balanced drilling
- Air and foam drilling
- Extreme LCM concentrations
- High ROP
Features
- Plug-and-play compatibility with APS SureShot downhole and surface systems
- Automatic lithology compensation adjusts signal output to conserve power
- State-of-the-art surface receiver with increased sensitivity for enhanced low-level signal detection
- Unique, rugged gap sub with superior electrical isolation properties
- Enhanced signal strength and unlimited operating time when used with APS's Turbine Alternator
- Integrated flow switch with programmable flow on/off thresholds, hysterisis and filter parameters
- Downlink for real-time parameter changes
- Wired or wireless receiver-to-SureShot interface
- Fixed-mount or retrievable
- Signal modeling software for predicting performance using LAS offset data
The EMT system uses a unique gap sub which eliminates current leakage to maximize energy efficiency. To save power, EMT automatically adjusts its output level for different lithologies, and can operate inside casing for measurements during trips.
