APS Technology Announces Enhanced MWD Sensor Interface Unit with Integrated Depth Tracking
New Surface System Design Gives Independent Service Companies Depth/Time Correlation for LWD Logs
Wallingford, CT and Houston, TX – December 15, 2008 – APS Technology, Inc., a leading provider of innovative technologies for drilling performance, today announced the general availability of their latest SureShot™ Sensor Interface Unit (SIU) design with integrated depth tracking option.
The SIU is the base model of APS's expandable SureShot surface system and includes everything needed to measure, filter, decode, display, store and retrieve data for basic survey-on-connection jobs. A separate PC and rig floor display can be added when needed for full directional MWD capability, and a depth-tracking system (DTS) retrofit and industry-standard Printrex plotter can be added for LWD services like gamma and propagation resistivity when required. The accompanying latest release of APS's SureShot Control Center software includes extensive database enhancements which enable depth / time correlation of SureShot realtime and memory logs. The new SIU also features eight front panel LED status indicators for monitoring downhole telemetry and depth system status.
SureShot surface systems are available in both "ruggedized" and "lite" versions.
