Wallingford, CT – May 29, 2015 – APS Technology, Inc. today announced that its new SureSteer™-RSS™475 Rotary Steerable System successfully concluded drilling of an S-shaped borehole at the company's Wallingford, CT drilling test facility. Consistent performance was observed while building and turning the well, holding inclination at just under 30 degrees and the dropping to vertical. Doglegs up to 10.8°/100 ft were achieved. The tool was found to be in good condition and still fully operational at the end of the test, during which 1235 ft of 6.5" hole were drilled in 56.5 circulating hours.

APS's EM system shares many common components with the company's field-proven mud pulse MWD system, giving customers extra flexibility via shared equipment assets. In the downhole string, every equipment component for the flow (hand-off) sub is shared between the two technologies. MPT systems can easily be upgraded to accommodate electromagnetic technology.

The announcement follows the completion of prototype flow loop testing, whereby the tool was put through its paces in the company's Wallingford, CT drilling laboratory. Wallingford, CT – December, 2014 – APS Technology, Inc. has announced the commercial release of a new size of its fully digital Wave Propagation Resitivity (WPR™) Sub for smaller-diameter boreholes. This 3.75 in. (95 mm) OD sensor sub is now available alongside APS's existing comprehensive WPR size range: 3.50 in. (89 mm), 4.75 in. (121 mm), 6.75 in. (171 mm) and 8.00 in. (203 mm) OD. The new device has a higher flow range than the 3.50 in. WPR, making it better suited for larger mud motor usage.
