The APS G5 high data rate pulser completed four successful runs in Western Siberia, Russia in February and March 2021. The G5 pulser is APS’s 5th generation top mount rotary pulser and is designed to transmit telemetry signals at high data rates with much lower power consumption than the previous pulser generations. The 4.75” LWD BHA used on these jobs consisted of APS’ Directional sensor, Gamma module, and WPR resistivity tools plus batteries and the G5 pulser. Pulse height remained strong and decoding quality was high all the way to TD.
